About him
I describe myself as kind, creative, affectionate, young at heart and easy going with humour being very important to me. I am happy in my own skin, happy being me. Favourite sitcoms are Frasier, Becker, Dad's Army, Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister and Porridge, plus I have recently discovered Red Dwarf. I have been told that I have nice eyes, I was determined to slip that in somewhere:)
I am amiable and usually get along with most people, which is helped by being patient and not prone to tantrums. My pet dislike is arrogance especially if it's not accompanied by knowledge or ability.
I will make a stand for an issue I become passionate about, if I can possibily make a difference. I don't take myself too seriously.
Having spent five years at art college, I have a keen interest in all forms of art and design and enjoy galleries and museums. This extends to admitting to a fascination for model railways, with a particular interest in the styling of French, Italian and Swiss railways from the 1930s to the 1970s and I have built up quite a collection! It doesn't prevent me from supporting Brexit though.
An attempt at writing, has resulted in a self help guide and the first draft of a crime novel set in Italy which I fear needs reworking - the Ernest Hemingway quote applies!🙂
The "Religion" box is "Ask Me Later", as I'm an "Agnostic/Christian/Protestant", but alas there isn't a box for it!
I enjoy badminton and I have got a cross country skiing machine which exercises everything all at once, providing I don't fall flat on my face! I also enjoy country walks even in the rain.
My photos are mostly quite recent. I didn't know which to include, so I opted for safety in numbers! ..it's not vanity. 🙂
I was lucky to be in John Lewis when the FA Cup, Premiership Trophy and the Charity Shield were on display!
At school, I played the trombone - badly, so if you have "bad trombone player" on your bucket list of "moderately important" requirements, then I could be the one for you.
About his ideal match
I am looking for the "special someone" to share the rest of my life with, someone who is affectionate, loving, faithful, kind, understanding, doesn't take herself too seriously and has a sense of humour. Chemistry will be important.
I don't believe in astrology, but inexplicably, from my observation, star signs do appear to give a reasonably accurate indication of a person's personality type and probably no stranger than Myers Briggs.
